My Ethical Products Pledge To You



Selling products in any healthcare practice always presents an ethical quandary.

On the one hand, the healthcare practitioner is always supposed to keep the client’s/patient’s healthcare interests paramount. Sometimes recommending a quality product is one way of achieving this.

On the other hand, selling healthcare products directly economically benefits the healthcare practitioner.

It is at this point that the possible dilemma arises: Recommending a product because of financial gain rather than the client’s/patient’s health or well-being. As you can imagine, there is potential for abuse in the healthcare industry.

Because of this, I want you to know that I do sell products at my facility. And yes selling those products does benefit me economically.

In doing so, I want to make to you what I call my “Ethical Products Pledge”

ETHICAL PRODUCTS PLEDGE

1. I will never recommend or sell you a product that I do not believe has a reasonable chance of helping you or benefiting your well-being.

2. I will only sell healthcare products of the highest quality, and only after I have thoroughly researched the product for efficacy and safety.

3. I will always be truthful about the limitations of the healthcare products I sell, and I will never exaggerate their benefits.

4. I would never sell you a product that I haven’t tried or wouldn’t try myself.

5. I would never sell you a nutritional supplement which I know would be contraindicated for your condition. Additionally, I would never sell you a nutritional supplement with the intent of that nutritional supplement replacing your prescription medication.

6. I will only recommend a healthcare product if I see you are open to receive that recommendation, or if you directly ask for a recommendation.

7. I will always price my healthcare products at a reasonable market value. If I can get a deal on products form my suppliers, I will try to pass those savings along to you.

8. If you are ever dissatisfied with any healthcare product I have sold you at my facility, bring it back. I will replace it, exchange it or return your money. You do not have to make up an excuse or feel embarrassed; just bring it back and say, “Sean, this product just didn’t work out”. I’ll make it right.
